Privacy Policy

Skipper is an upcoming service that gives a household one shared phone number. This page explains what we collect from visitors to skipperphone.com and what we do with it.
The short version. Right now this site does one thing: it collects an email address so we can tell you when the service is available. We don't sell your information, we don't share it with data brokers, and you can have it deleted at any time by emailing us.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we store:
- The email address you enter (required).
- The household or personal name you enter (optional — leave it blank if you prefer).
- Your IP address and browser user-agent, used to rate-limit automated signups.
- Referral information — the page or advertisement that brought you here, including campaign tags in the web address.
We do not ask for, and this website does not collect, phone numbers, payment details, location data, or any information about children.
Why we collect it
To contact you about the launch of Skipper, and to understand which advertisements brought people to the site so we don't waste money on ones that don't work. That's the entire purpose. We will not add you to unrelated mailing lists.
Advertising and measurement
We advertise this waitlist on Meta's platforms (Facebook and Instagram). To measure whether those advertisements work, this site uses the Meta pixel, and when you join the waitlist we send Meta a conversion event through their Conversions API.
That event includes a cryptographically hashed (irreversible) form of your email address, your IP address, and browser user-agent, which Meta uses to attribute the signup to an advertisement. We never send Meta your email address in readable form. Meta's own handling of this data is governed by Meta's Privacy Policy.
You can limit this in your browser with any standard tracking blocker, and in your Meta ad preferences.
Where it's stored
Waitlist entries are stored in a database operated by Cloudflare, Inc. on our behalf. The site itself is served by Cloudflare. We keep waitlist entries until the service launches or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first.
Who we share it with
Nobody, other than the service providers named above who process it for us. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the advertising measurement described above.
Children
This website is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The waitlist is for parents and other adult household members. If you believe a child has submitted information here, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- Access or deletion — email us and we'll send you what we hold or delete it, at your choice.
- Unsubscribe — every email we send will include an unsubscribe link.
- Correction — tell us and we'll fix it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. We honour these requests regardless of where you live — email is the fastest route.
Changes
If this policy changes materially before launch, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
